Crimson Careers Crimson Careers is a company that partners with global companies to offer high school students work experience and live careers training courses. Participants are able to gain practical skills, build global networks, create massive impact and supercharge your career. They offer internships at various different companies and opportunities vary year round. However, some notable examples are: Uber, HSBC, Salesforce, Crypto Startups, etc Applicants can apply to these programs whenever during the year and they will be required to fill out applications along with an interview and costs for the program.
RBC Tech Labs RBC Summer Tech Labs is an eight-week (July 3 - August 23, 2023) paid internship for students in grades 11 and 12. Throughout the summer, students will collaborate in small teams to grow their technical and professional skills, while solving three real world challenges faced by RBC. The students will gain valuable knowledge through workshops, mentoring, and will have hands-on experience deploying code into the RBC environment. Throughout the summer you will collaborate with a team of 4, responsible for building and presenting a working prototype that addresses a real business problem. You will have the chance to explore new technology, utilize design thinking methodologies to solve a complex challenge, and bring your solution to life! In the program you will design, develop, and test a prototype for a business unit at RBC, utilize new technologies (e.x. Javascript, Github, REACT.js, etc.), collaborate with business users and senior leaders to gather requirements and brainstorm solutions. Check the website for when applications open. The process will include submissions of a resume, cover letter, programming test. If you are accepted, you will be paid for your work throughout the summer.
Queen's High School Internships in Computing The internship opportunities are two month in-person, on campus experiences for students to work in a computing research lab with one or more computing professors and graduate students. You will work with a School of Computing professor and Queen's University students (areas and projects vary depending on the research group that you are placed with). Students must be entering (or continuing) grade 12 in Fall of 2022, must have some programming experience (high school courses or self-taught), and you must reside in Kingston for the summer. The application process requires you to provide a: brief declaration of your interest in the internship (why you are interested, what you hope to get out of it) as well as a paragraph highlighting your experience in Computer Science, A detailed resume, A letter of reference, preferably from your Computer Science teacher, and an (unofficial) transcript of your high school grades to date. Students who complete the program are awarded a $1500 stipend for the summer.
Nokia Internships The internship is an eight-week program in which you will work alongside Nokia engineering teams solving real, technical problems. Over the course of the summer, you will contribute to meaningful work while receiving support and valuable lessons from a Nokia Future Tech Mentor. You will discover new possibilities and skills that will help you make an impact on the future of technology. Applicants must be high school students who will be entering grade 12 in the fall of 2023. You must also have a proven ability to work in a team environment (including extracurricular activities). You may not have any experience in these fields, but you have a keen interest in computer science, computer engineering, software and hardware development.
